Deleting forum posts

If you believe that a member's post violates the TOS (usually this is for personal attacks) then follow these steps:

  1. Post a new thread in the Coord forum titled "[Membername] - personal attacks in forum?" with a link to the thread
  2. Check the member record to see if the member has any previous warnings or reminders and if so, make a note of this in the thread
  3. Wait for a moderator or admin to give the go-ahead to remove. Coords do not currently have access to delete individual posts, so you will have to ask a mod to remove the post in question.
  4. You will still be able to read the deleted post, but regular members cannot.
  5. You must always contact the member whose post you removed. If necessary, issue them a warning or reminder. You can use this sample wording:
    Dear [membername]

I have had to remove your post in this thread:
    [link to thread]
because [reason for removal, e.g. violates the TOS on personal attacks]

Please remember that the purpose of our forums is for members to communicate, discuss and share their opinions. Attacking those who do not share your own opinions is not acceptable.

[This warning has been noted on your member record.]
    OR
[Further TOS violations will result in you receiving an official warning.]

    Regards,
    [yourname]
