Powerage

is our February 2020 Vendor of the Month. Powerage is a top seller at Renderosity with over 500 items in their amazing store. This talented artist joined Renderosity in 2002 and hails from France. One of the things that make Powerage unique as a vendor is that there are as many 3D assets like props, architecture and landscapes as there are clothing and 3D figure assets. And all of Powerage's work is excellent!

We have a brief interview with Powerage (see below) and a video gallery which features 10 works from his thriving Renderosity store.

Interview with Powerage

Renderosity: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your creative background?

Powerage: I started to create 3d content in 2005 and since then I have never stopped.

Where do you find your inspiration?

Powerage: My inspiration is guided by my desire of the moment, it is necessary that I want to treat a subject, whatever the theme. The diversity of my store here, represents the fact that I'm not a topic of predilection, it would annoy me terribly to stick to a specific theme.

I love the wide variety of subjects and themes in your store. Where and how do you get your ideas for new products?

Powerage I admire specialists, those who make hair or clothes. Unfortunately, I can not stay in a specific area because it bores me quickly, so I alternate. I think it's funny to model feminine underwear, then a hideous monster or buildings :) alternating themes, trying to learn new skills, that's what makes me progress. This way of proceeding allows me to have new ideas to realize. I have to want it, I could not force myself to do something, it must be fun first.

What’s the most important tool you use for your work? Why?

Powerage: I use 3ds Max, Z brush, 3D Coat, Photoshop and Daz Studio.

How has your own work changed over the years? Where do you think it’s headed?

Powerage: The technical advances of recent years allowed me to speed up my workflow and gave me the opportunity to explore new things. I am convinced that the future is in 3D real-time that offers infinite possibilities. The 3D hobbyists market is not mature yet, but I think that will come. Personally, I'm ready and I can not wait to be a full-time developer of 3D real-time content (video games and more) The creative process for these areas is exciting and opens up almost endless possibilities.

The Lost Castle by Powerage (coming in March 2020)

What are you working on currently?

Powerage: I am currently working on a large castle scene in the middle of a snowy mountain and a river. It is an interesting set that will allow you to create images of battles. I also work in parallel on machines which were used at the time of the Middle Ages to besiege a castle. Catapults, trebuchets and others ... all of this strongly inspired by the battle of Minas Tirith from the Lord of the Rings. I think all of this should be ready by March.
