Contest Winners Spotlight: 2D Holiday Contest Winners

Jan 19, 2022 at 05:30 am by gToon

This is a continuing series of articles where we will spotlight the winners of a Renderosity contest. We'll share their winning creations, their comments on the winning entry and give you a link to their gallery and/or profile. There are so many great entries to every contest we run that we wish we could spotlight every one of them. We'll have to settle for a big, "Thank you!".

In this article, we spotlight the winner of the 2D section of the 2021 Holiday Contest: Christmas Around the World. In addition to the winners, we'd like to acknowledge everyone who entered along with the sponsors of the contest.

Winner: Entry #9 by TerraMoore

For Santa

2nd place: Entry #12 by OddMuse

Santa Lucia, The Light Bringer

Night walks with a heavy step
Round yard and hearth,
As the sun departs from earth,
Shadows are brooding.
There in our dark house,
Walking with lit candles,
Santa Lucia, Santa Lucia!

Night walks grand, yet silent,
Now hear its gentle wings,
In every room so hushed,
Whispering like wings.
Look, at our threshold stands,
White-clad with light in her hair,
Santa Lucia, Santa Lucia!

Darkness shall take flight soon,
From earth's valleys.
So she speaks
Wonderful words to us:
A new day will rise again
From the rosy sky…
Santa Lucia, Santa Lucia!

3rd place: Entry #17 by Lunaseas

In some Pagan paths, there is a
correlation between the shape of
a pair of horns and the crescent moon.
The image of a stag with a full moon
between his antlers represents both the
male (the antlers) and the
female (the moon) aspects of
the Divine.
