Remembering Renderosity Member - Malowarrior

Feb 25, 2022 at 12:49 pm by gToon

We recently received the sad news that Renderosity member Malowarrior has passed away. Malowarrior has been a member since 2006 and hailed from Hamburg, Germany. His friend, Melanie, told us of Malowarrior’s passing and shared some memories of him. We’ve also put together a short memorial video that features selected works from his gallery.

Renderosity sends condolences to Melanie and his friends. When someone dies, a whole world dies with them. We honor malowarrior's life and share memories of him with one of his friends.

Melanie: I met malowarrior about 20 years ago when I started doing Poser with P5. We met online at one of the many forums in that time period and connected very fast. He was a kind soul and humorous. Most of the time he had fun or cheeky answers, always making jokes.

We had a remote friendship as we lived about 600 km apart, but we also met personally from time to time and visited each other and of course stayed in contact through the forums, mail, chat etc. The chemistry was just right.

He used Poser and stayed with it. He mostly used P7 and V4 for a very long time but also VUE from time to time for his images.

He called himself “the last Poser dinosaur”. He was very patient and created each pose and facial expression from scratch. He had an eye for details in the backgrounds and I adored him for this. He had a lot of knowledge that he was always willing to share, and I learned a lot from him. And if he did not know something he tried to figure it out (even for days or weeks/months!).

His favorite genre was Science Fiction like Star Wars and Alien etc. So, a lot of his images were from that genre – he also created short stories in the Star Wars universe. He only shared a few pictures here at the galleries but of course, he also created images with other genres - but also images which have been shocking or made you think about. (His grandfather told him stories from the world war for example which he expressed also in his images). His images were seldom the “usual stuff”.

He loved Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Western movies, Erotica, war and peace, fun stuff – there was no topic he would not use for his creations, except … he did not do elf ears lol. This was one thing he could not stand.

He also created some outfits himself with CAD3D Software – worked on them for months - which I had to force him to try to sell or to show anyone at all. With this he was always shy, and I had to push him sometimes. He surely had his own style (which was not the generally liked stuff) – I would recognize his works any time – so of course, the sales were not that successful (and they had not been planned to be). Nevertheless, he put a lot of effort in this stuff, and I loved being the beta tester for his works. I got used to his well-thought-out dials on the clothes that I started missing those in clothes sets from other vendors – and he knew that and was proud of it.

Most of the images he shared came with short stories, he was very creative and during the last years, he also created full comics or combined some of his short works to full stories. I remember he told me once that he created 148 images in 11 days for one of his larger comics. Rendering and the communities he had contact to have been his life (and his normal work for a plane building company).

Unfortunately, during the last three years, he got very, very ill and the Corona situation made him more lonely than he had already been. He struggled a lot with this. At the end of 2021 it seemed to get better, he was able to go to work again and I so hoped that everything would work out now. But life had other plans and my dear friend passed away alone in a hospital intensive care unit on Monday, February 21st, 2022.

He was always there in the time we knew each other (except when he was too tired from his illness), always making fun, always creating (when he was able to). He was a dear friend for so many years and he leaves behind a gap that cannot be closed at all.

As he leaves behind no family or partner who would remember him I am very happy about Renderosity giving him a memorial here. He would have loved that; his life was so very lonesome - but dedicated to our shared hobby.

Farewell, my friend, I miss you already!
