For digital artists, it takes a lot to make a person beautiful. Studying any particular model, one can easily see that hair, clothes, shoes, and matching accessories are simply the beginning of a long process to find the right aesthetic.
Through the help of Renderosity vendors like Anagord though, users can streamline their efforts with pre-made assets that already fit their vision. Be it a hat, a pair of wristbands, or something fresh off of the digital rack, purchasers can use the creativity of others to take their own works of art to new heights.
Continuing our Creator Profile series, user Anagord was kind enough to share with Renderosity users a bit about herself and what she does in digital composition. Our interview with Anagord is below.
My name is Gordana Zegarac. I am 53 years old. I was born in Negotin (Serbia). [I’m] currently living in Belgrade (Serbia).
I grew up with my grandparents [in a] really simple farm life… it was really different, [with] almost none of the technology like we have now. When I was 18, I moved to London and worked there in a hotel for a few years. When I came back to Serbia, I started in real estate. And that was my last job before I started art.
What got you into digital content creation?
Well, I [have] loved art since I was really young… that was always my dream career. So… the moment I got an opportunity to switch from real estate, I immediately switched.
What do you do in the world of digital content creation? How many years have you been doing it?
I am a 3D character creator and texture artist. I've been doing it for 16 years.
What kind(s) of software do you use?
I use Photoshop, Daz Studio, Zbrush, PoserPro, Substance Painter, and Maya. I started with Photoshop, so I really got used to working in it… Also, it is something that changed my life. [Because of this], it has a bit of a sentimental value.
Who or what has influenced your creativity?
My art teacher all the way back in primary school. But, through the years, it was even more inspired [by] the rise of the internet.
Why do you think your work resonates with others?
I think it resonates because I always tried to give the best of myself and also with every project/product it is part of me and who I am.
Let’s get a breakdown of some past projects.
Every project is equal to me. [I]love them all! But my past projects were mostly fantasy oriented. And that was amazing. That was the time when I perfected my texture work with leather.
Some of my favorites are my addons: "RIOT," “FOX SPIRIT,” “SEPARATES,” “RANGER,” etc.
What are you currently working on?
I am currently working on something totally new for me and my store. Also, my first modeled-by-me outfit, which will bring fantasy and fashion in a really special way.
What are you working on for the future? And what are your hopes and dreams for 2023?
My goal is to learn to model hair and make standalone figures. That is my dream for 2023.
What are some of your favorite products/tools to use inside the software?
I use a lot of them. I am really into lighting so the renders can be awesome. That is really important. Bad lighting can make an amazing product look not that great, so that is always my No1 focus.
What advice would you have for young creators?
Since my daughter is working the same job as me, I will tell them what I told her when she started: Be patient, be yourself, and always strive to be better and learn more. And of course, enjoy it!
