Renderosity: Tell us about yourself and your background

1971s:  My name is Sergiy Dobrovolski. My nickname is 1971s. I can easily explain its meaning – it`s the year of my birth) Yes, I`m already 50)  I live in Ukraine. The war brought a lot of suffering and disaster to the people in my country. Many people run to other safe countries. It`s really hard to distract from these terrible events and devote myself to creativity. But my family and I stay in Ukraine and we believe that everything will be peaceful soon.  

I really adore the nature of my country: rivers, lakes, woods. Landscape photography (especially in the early hours) perfectly shows all beauty and diversity of the place, where I live. I try to share the best sceneries with people who live abroad, with the help of photography. I am lucky)  

I`m keen on making content for other people, who wanna create their own worlds. Sometimes I wanna create something for my own gallery, but during work, I understand that I want to show it to other people. My personal and commercial work are very intertwined, and I don`t know when the first starts and the second finishes.  

From my deep childhood, I have been reading science fiction. Lots of books…William Ford Gibson, Bruce Sterling and others. Thanks to them, they showed me a wide range of fantastic and unreal worlds.  They influenced my relationship with the world.  The best fantasy for me is John Ronald «Reuel J.R.R». Tolkien and the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit. Maybe, it`s the best fantasy I have ever read. Films didn`t influence my creativity as books, but there are some of them, like the Aliens series and Bladerunner.   

People, who only start their way in digital art, are really lucky. You can create everything you want. You can make your dreams real, and create whole worlds. You can share your work with other people and receive well-deserved criticism or praise. You can surprise everyone around. You can use any pictures and music, which deserve your attention.
