The latest tutorial from SilverwingfVFX (Raphael Rau) shows how to create a shader setup with Octane Render that allows you to develop distance-based effects.

Rau’s example changes the textures and resolution of those textures based on the position of the camera, showing the system on a terrain scene.

Rau often takes specific rendering and general CG techniques and does a deep dive, showing off things like working with CES in C4D and After Effectshow to make a Retroreflector material in Octane Render, and how to set up a layered shader for car paint.
