Interview with Vendor of the Month – Adarling97

Whimsical, bold, creative and technically elite…some of the words that can be used to describe works from one of Renderosity’s favorite top-selling vendors. Ashley Hirshfield, better known to members as Adarling97, is a busy mom of three and a karate instructor, but when there are moments of calm between life’s realities, she loves to create wearable textures, outfits, and/or brushes using Photoshop and Daz Studio.

Be sure to visit Adarling97's Renderosity storefront and gallery. She has a diverse selection of products and artistic talent that you will certainly be inspecting the possibilities.

What brought about your interest in digital art and what do you love about it?

My mom, Antje, did this basically my whole life and growing up and seeing her create fun and beautiful things helped pique my interest in it. She was always super supportive with everything I and my sisters created!

How or why did you decide to become a Renderosity vendor?

I originally started because I was a new mom with my first baby and wanted to do something on my down time and earn a little money. Now I absolutely love it and just enjoy making things that make me and others happy.

What is the typical workflow on a new project and detail your favorite tools?

It honestly depends on my free time. Since I’ve started, I had two more kids, three in all, five and under. So usually, it can take me about an hour, or it can take me a couple of days. Just depends on the free time I get.

One of my favorite tools would be Photoshop's Magic wand. It is extremely helpful making quick selections. But in all, I mainly use Photoshop because it has almost all the tools I would need to create.

What are among your favorite creations?

Honestly, I love them all…I don't really have a favorite!

Are there other artists that influence your work, and do you have a close mentor?

There are!  Antje, 3DSublimeProductions, and probably Luna3D.  As for my close mentor, that would definitely be Antje!

How has Renderosity made a difference in your growth as an artist/vendor?

Renderosity has helped me learn new ways and/or styles to create products.

What advice do you have for someone who wants to become an artist/vendor?

Go for it, if it is something you are truly passionate about, and think what you would like to start up or start back into! But also keep in mind, it's not always rainbows and fun, sometimes it may feel taxing, but no matter what, good things will come out of it.

What last comments or thoughts do you have for us?

I want to thank every vendor for being a part of Renderosity, no matter how "big" or how "small," you are very much valued, and I love seeing everyone's efforts to improve themselves and Renderosity.
