A Quick Q&A with January’s Vendor of the Month: Powerage

Jan 16, 2025 at 05:38 pm by PJeditor

Our Vendor of the Month for January, 2025, is a talented Frenchman, Christophe Parvillé, known to community members as Powerage.

He was born in lovely Versailles, near Paris in 1970. Showing his artistic talent from an early age, his favorite activity growing up was drawing – a lot of drawing as he put it.

Christophe didn’t get his first computer until he was well into his 20s, but he quickly became interested in digital art. It was not long after that he discovered Poser and was amazed by the possibilities it offered. He quickly realized he needed to buy additional products to create the images he had in mind, and it was during that time he discovered Renderosity, joined in 2002 and was at home in its “bubbling and very active community,” he shared.

By 2005, he decided to start producing content for sale online.

Describe your offerings and how would you describe your style?

My offerings are varied because I don't like to always do the same thing. Therefore, I believe that I don't have a particular style. This has the advantage of having productions that allow the client to add their own styles.

What is the typical workflow on a new project?

The idea and the desire first, find references if necessary, find the name of the future project and organize the files.

What do you love about producing digital art?

Like many, I imagine it's the best way to escape. When I work my mind is 100 percent focused on creation.

What are among your favorite creations to produce?

It depends on the moment, but I enjoy architectural productions and synthesizers :)

How has Renderosity made a difference in your growth as an artist/vendor?

Next February it will be 20 years since I've been here. This is my home :)

What future plans do you have for your work? What career goals do you have in digital art?

At 54, my goals are behind me. I simply hope not to lose the desire to create…for the moment everything is going well on that side.

What advice do you have for someone who wants to become an artist or vendor?

Don't be afraid of AI, unlike many artists. I am quite confident about the future of artistic production despite the spectacular advances in AI.

Humans will always need to create and progress in their art. People will eventually get tired of creating images with prompts…nothing exciting about that.

Any other comments you have for the community?
