Renderosity celebrates as our Rising Star! for January, 2025, RedQLips, who was born in April of 1996 in Madya Pradesh, India, and still lives there today.

Interestingly, there was no specific interest in computers in the early years, but there was a strong enthusiasm for learning new things. Those “new things” eventually led to work as a 2D game developer, handling both art and coding. Now, however, the transition has been made to 3D game development.

Q&A

What brought about your interest in 3D artistry?

What got me interested in 3D artistry was a mix of my love for creativity and my fascination with the work of fellow 3D artists, which sparked my curiosity about how these amazing visual experiences were created. I spent a lot of time drawing art for my game and exploring different forms of art. My curiosity and desire to learn new skills played a big role in shaping my passion for this field.

I began investigating 3D art because of my growing interest in creating more immersive and dynamic visuals. As I worked on my game’s 2D art, I realized that 3D could offer more depth and flexibility. I became curious about how 3D artists brought their designs to life and wanted to learn how to apply that to my own projects. The desire to explore new creative possibilities and expand my skill set led me to dive into 3D art.

What are the programs you first used while learning to create 3D graphics, and what are your favorite programs or tools now for work?

My very first program was Blender, where I learned the basics of how the 3D world works. Later, I started using Daz3D to bring my 3D art to life in the real world. By far, Daz3D is the program I enjoy the most and is my favorite for creating 3D art.

What is your typical workflow for a design?

My typical workflow for a design starts with deciding what I want to create. For example, if I’m designing a skirt, I first think about the style I want to achieve. Then, I search online for 3 to 4 reference images of skirts that inspire me. By combining elements from these references, I create something new and unique.

How did you transition your interest in digital art to production of commercial works?

I transitioned my interest in digital art to commercial work by improving my skills. Once I got comfortable with Daz3D, I started developing my own 3D art game. Eventually, I stopped working on my 2D game and focused entirely on 3D art and digital assets, turning my passion into a career.

Are there other artists that influence your work or have mentored you?

Yes, there are several artists who have influenced my work, especially in the 3D art community. While I haven’t had a direct mentor or taken any professional institution classes, everything I've learned has come from YouTube tutorials by various artists.

What motivated you to become a vendor?

My motivation to become a vendor came from the issues I faced while developing 3D art. Initially, I used to buy clothes from the Daz market, but they often didn’t fit my model characters perfectly. There would always be problems like poke-through or mesh-sticking, especially when posing. Since I had previously learned Blender, I was able to fix these issues, but it took up most of my time. This experience motivated me to create my own products that would solve these problems for others.

How did you make the decision to become a vendor at Renderosity?

I decided to become a vendor at Renderosity after realizing that the 3D art community could benefit from better-fitting assets. After facing constant issues with clothing and accessories not fitting my models properly, I felt I could create higher-quality products, including morphs, to solve these problems. Renderosity seemed like the perfect platform to reach a wider audience, and I saw it as an opportunity to turn my skills into something that could help others while allowing me to grow as an artist.

How has Renderosity made a difference or helped in your growth as a vendor?

Renderosity has made a significant difference in my growth as a vendor by providing a platform where I can showcase my work to a large, supportive community. The exposure I’ve gained has helped me reach more customers, refine my skills, and better understand what the community needs. Their tools and resources for vendors have made it easier to manage my products and sales, and the feedback from customers has been invaluable in improving my work. Additionally, since I never learned from a professional institute and only picked things up through YouTube tutorials, I initially made some errors in product packaging. However, the Renderosity mods have always been incredibly helpful, pointing out mistakes and providing detailed guidance on how to resolve them. This kind of support is rare—many would just point out the errors and leave it to you to figure out. I’m truly thankful that Renderosity goes the extra mile to help me improve, which has allowed me to grow both as an artist and a vendor.

What are some products you want to create in the near future and what goals do you have in mind as a vendor?

In the near future, I want to create more advanced and detailed 3D assets, including clothing and accessories. I’m also looking to experiment with creating customizable items and expanding my collection to different styles and needs within the 3D art community. As a vendor, my goal is to continue improving the quality of my products, reach a broader audience, and provide even more valuable resources for 3D artists. I also hope to grow my presence on Renderosity and other platforms, expanding my brand while continuing to learn and adapt to industry trends.

Any last thoughts or comments for the community?

My message to the community is to never stop pushing the boundaries of creativity and learning. The 3D art world is always evolving, with endless new techniques, tools, and ideas to explore. You don’t need a degree from a professional institute to succeed—just focus and a determined mindset. Everything you need is available for free, and with dedication and persistence, your efforts will pay off. I’m thankful for the support and feedback I’ve received from everyone, and I’m excited to keep contributing to this incredible community. Let’s continue sharing knowledge, collaborating, and growing together!
