Welcome to the Photography Forum Challenge Series for July. This month's theme is Thresholds. For this month's challenge we are going to explore framing our subject. While there are a multitude of ways to frame the main focal point of an image, we are going to go a little beyond merely providing a border. To accomplish this, we will attempt to either create or use an existing environmental element to provide a visual threshold for the mind to cross over. The threshold should work in harmony with the main subject, while simultaneously adding to the overall mood of the image. How you choose to interpret this is up to you. So grab your camera, unlock your imagination and have fun. Entries will be accepted until midnight August 2nd, 2002 GMT. Voting will begin on August 4th, 2002, and end on August 8th. Please check before the voting begins to make sure your entry has been approved and is posted. For Challenge Series Rules and Guide lines, please read below. SueO and Alpha Challenge Series Rules... All entries must be comprised of original photographic images created by the entrant. Post work in any photo editing and/or paint program is acceptable and encouraged... However, the use of royalty free images, or the addition of characters and/or objects created in a modeling program is not. *This is a photography contest* :) All images should be uploaded in JPEG format at a resolution of 72 Pixels Per Inch. Images should be less than 200 KB in file size. Images for each contest should be photographed after the entry start date and before the finish date. A limit of one entry per contestant. Images that do not conform to the Renderosity TOS will be deemed ineligible and deleted. Challenge Series Entry Guidelines.... Zone I is for advanced intermediate, expert and professional photographers. People who post to this level are usually experienced photographers. They are shooting with prosumer, or better cameras, and generally have a solid understanding and working knowledge of the basics of photography. Zone II is for beginning and intermediate photographers. This can be defined as still learning the basic technical aspects of making good exposures, and/or learning the basic concepts of composition. Their equipment can run the full range of the spectrum from professional gear to point-and-shoot cameras.
