Drummroll Please!

Congratulations go to Rio, whose entry was selected for the Front Cover of Renderosity magazine, Issue 4! Additional congratulations go to Craves for being selected for the back cover. The CD-Rom Silkscreen will be the entry from -mars-. In addition to the these selections, we've got 10 Runners up, who came in like gangbusters, not to mention the slew of Honorable Mentions. The magazine staff would like to congratulate each and every artist who entered this cover contest. We are not ashamed to say that the entries were SO good, we almost couldn't decide. As you can see by the huge list of contest winners here, the behind the scenes voting and fighting over this cover selection was heated and ultimately, we consider all of the art worthy of covers! Our regret was that we HAD to choose. Thank you all for your support and participation in this contest, and for making this one of our most successful contests ever. All Entrants Agree, by entering this contest, to allow Renderosity to use their entries for promoting Renderosity Magazine: Online, in print, on CD, or in any other medium used to promote the magazine. Also, by submitting your entry into this conest you are granting Renderosity the right to retain your entry in it's archive and to display the the entry within this community to promote Renderosity or future contests held as a part, or extension of this community. Contest Rules: Contest theme is "Alternate Realities - We are very interested to find out what that means to YOU. To promote the most diverse subject content we really aren't going to say much more about the theme than that. So, let your imagination run wild. Go ahead and experiment, try out those ideas that have been bouncing around your brain... dust off the cobwebs and fire up your inspiration! Take that journey you've been meaning to, into your Alternate Reality -- Just make sure you bring us back some pictures! Image entry size must be [72dpi-RGB-jpg], 640 (width) x 749 (height) pixels - don't forget to include a 100 x 100 pixel thumbnail. (Winner will need to supply a larger, 2550 x 2984 pixel [300dpi-CMYK-tif] image for printing) **If winner does not supply their image to us in proper size (By Oct 30th) they may, at the discretion of the magazine team and in response to publishing deadlines, forfeit their right to be published within the magazine. The magazine team may, at that time, choose an alternate cover winner. The image submitted for the online contest system will be in either jpg format. The winning images will need to be in TIF format at the proper dimension as previously stated. Everyone except Renderosity Admins and Magazine Staff can participate Image must not be previously posted online, in your gallery, or anywhere else publicly. Winning images must not appear online anywhere else during contest voting or until the Contest Winners have been Posted. Except for the Top Three Winners who have agreed to not publish their Cover Images (except on their Renderosity Gallery) until 90 days after the Publication of Issue 4. No Nudity (image must be suitable for ALL audiences) Only one image per person allowed (this includes member clones - that is, even if you have multiple accounts, only one entry per PERSON). Post work is allowed - Any software can be used. By uploading your image you are agreeing that this is your original works. Also, by uploading your entry you are certifying that all models used in the image are free from print and publication restrictions (Contest winners will be required to sign a statement verifying this.) The Artist will remain the intellectual property holder of their entry images. Cover winners may also be interviewed for a special magazine feature highlighting the creation of the winning artwork. A cover template is available showing the current cover layout and cover heading concept. The edges of your image will be faded to black, and the "Renderosity" title will appear on the top with shading so make sure you take this into account when you design your entry! The magazine cover template may be downloaded here. (A note about this template - this will be placed on top of your image BY US when we get the magazine ready for print so that your image will be 'vignetted' on the sides and top by the dark fades. Please make your entry the entire size of the template and just remember that parts of the top and parts of the sides will be "covered" by this darkened 'frame'.)
