Renderosity Halloween Contest 2002

Contest theme:

It's that time of the year again, Time to take all them bones and pumpkins out, Yep, it's halloween time! So get out there and make something scary!
Best of all, you get a chance at winning some great prizes that add up to over $130 and if you already own the Majestic Dragon and win first place, you will win Curios whole store on CD .

Contest Rules:

  • Any and all 3D programs can be used.
  • Submitted images no larger than 1024 by 768
  • Thumbnail size must not be larger than 100 X 100 pixels.
  • All submissions must fall within Renderosity's TOS.
  • Importing and Postwork allowed.
  • All images must be new artwork not previously viewed in any media before the start date of contest and must be artists own original work.
  • Must be Halloween based theme.
  • Contest will be open to all members, this means Mods and Adiministation too.
  • There will be 4 winners. (First place winner will have a cool option, See below)
  • Each winner will win all of the prizes listed below.(Winners who don't own Poser will get to choose another product from Curios store, instead of the Dragon).
  • The contest will start on Oct 3rd and end on Nov 7th Midnight RST (Renderosity Standard Time)
  • Limit one image per member.

Judging / Voting:

  • Community voting will start on the Nov 8th and end on Nov 14th. The top 10 winners from the community voting will then be judged by a panel of judges and the top 4 will be selected from that group of 10.

NOTE: Due to the fact that this contest has had member clone voting, the winners will be selected by the contest judges from all entries.

Basics Of Postwork is a extended tutorial for everybody, who is interested in creating some additional effects after the image has been rendered.

The booklet itself covers few techniques that the author uses all the time in his images - all done in post work.
- Hairpainting
- Lights and atmospheric lighting and effects, such as glow and backlighting
- Rain, and water related effects
- Fog, and few other atmospheric effects


Artists grant permission to Renderosity for the use of submitted images for an undetermined period of time. This is strictly for posting the image on the front page and within the contest archives. The Artist will remain the intellectual property holder.
