Think about this contest as a professional project. We need the most convincing and realistic 3D visualization of this monument. Information are contradictory : some claim that it was decorated with deities, others that a statue of Zeus - or Poseidon - stood on top of it, etc... you are free to choose any options, as long as it's a "plausible" and "realistic" option. Remember that the Pharos must be in situation : Alexandria was a dynamic mediterraneen harbor on the cost of Egypt. Your image must be a journey in the ancient Alexandria (from 285 B.C. to the 14th century). Finally, don't forget to bring your personal vision ! It's an "Art" contest not an architectural design exercise. We are not asking for series of distant long shot of the Pharos in front of a blue sky ! It can be at night, during a storm, you can frame your shot from a ship, etc... Nevertheless the Lighthouse must be the central focus of your image. A few illustrations of the Pharos are available here (200KB image). This contest is open to all Cinema 4D users registered as Renderosity members. Renderosity administrators and moderators cannot participate. The contest starts on November 5, 2002 and ends on November 30, 2002 12:00 a.m. ET (6:00 p.m. GMT). Entries MUST be uploaded before then, no exceptions. Winners will be chosen by a jury made of : Eduardo Zavala (NEXT LIMIT), Dustin McCartney (DAM-ENT), Dagmar Patzer (MOTION-GIMMICK), Sebastian Ulrich Dosch (DOSCH DESIGN) and the Renderosity Team. The winners will be announced on December 10, 2002. Please read carefully the contest rules before submitting your entry and... good luck ! |
