Think you know Christmas? After the death of his beloved Clara in
1968, Santa slowly allowed the commercial influences on Christmas
to wither his faith in holiday spirit and a more natural state of
fantasy reclaimed Christmasland. This season,Candace Claus has
taken over Christmas for her pop and your challenge is to
illustrate a realm where elves don't wear cute little green suits,
dragons are a threat and trolls play tricks on naughty folk...but
we also see how people celebrating Christmas react when they see
the changing face of Christmas;)This isn't a horror contest, just a
more mainstream reflection of Christmas fantasy.
A special note as this contest is also dedicated to people who have suffered loss this season or are enduring hardships...please say a prayer for my good friend Tom42 who just lost his father and another great guy Paul Bellamy who recently lost his mother.This is the season of giving not only presents,but love and warm wishes for those we care about:)Thank you for participating and hope you spread the warmth of Christmas cheer to those who may need it this time of year!
CONTEST RULES
*Image size no larger than 800 pixels wide by 1000 pixels high and thumbnails may be up to 100 x 100 pixels or smaller
*Only one entry per person
*Entry must be your own original work created just for this contest and not posted anywhere else til Christmas Eve
*No artist signatures
*Artistic nudity allowed (nothing explicit) and absolutely no violence
*All software formats are allowed to participate
*By entering this contest you give Renderosity the use of each image for an undetermined period of time but artists retain all intellectual property rights to their works
*Image must be a more mainstream fantasy format but retain the atmosphere and spirit of Christmas
JUDGING/VOTING
*Contest begins on Dec 6 2003 and ends Dec 27 2003 due to late start of contest(latest entrys accepted no later than midnight Hawaiian Time)- Voting will be held either the 28th or 29th of this month. Contest will be closed to community vote.
*Eight judges will be selected who will each rank their favorite top ten,the votes for each will be tallied and the top 4 prize winners will be chosen. Then 6 honorary mentions will be selected from the remaining members selected by the judges.
*All members who enter will receive Birds of Prey by iLona so every member will be a winner just by entering.
