Renderosity does not seek ownership of any of the entries! Full copyrights still belong to the individuals submitting their entries into this contest.

Submission Guidelines

  • Your story/poem must be based on the theme of the light of inspiration, however you choose to interpret that.
  • Tell us your tale in 1,000 words or less.
  • Ignore the 5 line limit on the box when you upload - that limit is only for "image contests"
  • Double space between paragraphs.
  • Type directly in the upload box or copy/paste from Notepad (or similar editing program).
  • Copy/Pasting from complex word processing programs, such as MS Word, can change certain characters.
  • If you use MS Word: Copy/Paste from Word into Notepad, then Copy/Paste into the contest upload box.
  • Do not insert html formating

  • Before uploading your text: right click on the following appropriate images and save to your hard drive.
  • Rename the image: thumb.jpg or main.jpg
  • When you upload your text - upload the appropriate images (either Poem or Story).

Contest Rules:

  • Contest Theme: The Light of Inspiration. Only one entry per member. Enter a short story or poem depicting the light of insipiration. Both fiction and nonfiction works accepted
  • Contest begins Friday, April 9, 2004 and ends Friday, May 7, 2004, at Noon Renderosity Server Time. (Entries MUST be timestamped by the contest ending date/time.)
  • Winners announced: May 14, 2004 in the Magazine Team Forum
  • All members and moderators can enter: with the exception of those members listed as judges or current Magazine Staff, and Admins.
  • Very Important : your story/poem must be a new work, not previously posted online, in your gallery, or anywhere else publicly.
  • Entries must not appear online anywhere during the contest or until the contest winners have been posted. By entering into the contest, the poetry and short story winners agree to not publish their stories until 90 days after the publication of Volume 3, Issue 2.
  • No sexual or extreme violence. Stories/poems must be suitable for all audiences and abide by Renderosity's Terms of Service.
  • Only one story/poem [either poem or short story] per member allowed (this includes member clones ? that is, even if you have multiple accounts, only one entry per PERSON).
  • By uploading your story/poem you are agreeing that this is your original work. (Contest winners will be required to sign a statement verifying this.)
  • Authors will remain the intellectual property holder of their entries.
  • The decision of the judges is final.
  • The RIM Writer's Contest is sponsored by The Renderosity Interactive Magazine.
