Cinema 4D Workshop 3: Texturing

Texture this model using SLA and Cinema's native shaders only!

Managers: cartesius, kromekat

Texture that car! This workshop will focus on texturing and to make it a little more interesting you are only allowed to use procedural bhodinut SLA and built in shaders. That means that no bitmaps are allowed - no images whatsoever may be used! This is to stimulate people getting to know and make use of Cinema's native texturing capabilities. The model we will be practising on is a funky car done by Thierry Huguet-Lelong from FrenchCinema4D.com and you are free to texture it like you want. Make it all new and shiny, or rusty and scratched, it's up to you. We have a few simple rules, though:

• Only one entry per member
• Only use SLA and native procedural Cinema shaders
• You are not allowed to use bitmaps or external textures and shaders (no Simbiont, no BodyPaint)
• Every shader must be your own creation!<
• If you are using Cinema 4D CE or a version of Cinema that doesn't have SLA capabilities you are allowed to use bitmaps
• You must render your scene from the included camera at 800 x 600 pixels or less (the included light setup can be replaced/modyfied if needed)

• There is no need to create an environment as the focus of the challenge is the car
• Post-processing in a 2D application is allowed but keep it to a minimum
• The winner must provide the Cinema 4D-file for download
• The workshop will start on June 17 and will be closed on July 17, at 16:00 CST (GMT -6), also known as Renderosity time (you can see Renderosity time at the top of this page)

The file can be downloaded here. It's for Cinema 4D XL 8.2 but the zipped archive contains an obj-version of the model as well.

After the workshop we will have a public vote to select who did the best/most original job.

Have fun and don't forget to use the Cinema 4D forum if you need any help!
