Model and texture a realistic mouse! And we don't mean those furry little creatures but a computer mouse. It can be any mouse of your choice (Microsoft, Logitech, Apple, Kensington, etc), it can be an old mouse or a brand new optical one, that is completely up to you. It has to look real, though, so no fantasy creations this time. Focus will be on modeling as well as texturing (and remember that you don't have to go overboard on the polycount to get a good looking mouse, low poly and HyperNURBS can take you a long way).
Only one entry per member
Model must be textured
There is no need to create an environment as the focus of the
workshop is modeling and texturing
Post-processing in a 2D application is allowed but keep it to a
minimum
The winner must provide the Cinema 4D-file for download
The workshop will start on July 17 and will be
closed on August 17, at 16:00 CST (GMT
-6), also known as Renderosity time (you can see
Renderosity time at the top of this page)
Wip-postings in
the forum are optional but highly encouraged so we can study and
learn topology and various approches.
For the final entry: render as usual (any size you
want but 800x600 is recommended) and superimpose a smaller wire
image on top of it, like this:
After the workshop we will have a public vote to select who did the best/most original job and the winner (or winners) will get the Cinema 4D Forum Workshop Award for display on his or her homepage!
But it isn't over yet! In the next workshop we will be focusing on the use of HDRI in Cinema and the mouse we model now will be the starting point for that workshop.
Have fun and don't forget to use the Cinema 4D forum if you need any help!
