Renderosity organizes an image contest opened to all Carrara and Raydream Studio users. The winner will receive a copy of Tree Druid for Carrara offered by our sponsor Zenstar Software. The topic for this contest is "Coffee & a Donut" in a photorealistic way!.

Here are the rules :

  • The contest is open to all Renderosity members . It ends on March 31st, 2002 . Members can submit as many entries as they want .
  • The topic of the contest is "Coffee and a donut". Model, texture and render a simple still life image of a cup o' Joe and a donut sitting on a kitchen table. Sound simple? Here's the catch: make it as photorealistic as possible. Push Carrara or Ray Dream to its limits, and make us want to reach out and touch the contents of your image. Make it so real you can smell the coffee. Good luck!
  • The image must be made mostly with Carrara or Raydream Studio . The use of other softwares based on the same technology is permitted ( Coreldream, Infini-D... ). Post render is allowed .
  • The image must be still, in .jpg of .gif format, 800x800 pixels maximum, and preferably less than 150KB. Of course, it has to illustrate the theme. Nudity is not allowed.

Judges will be:

  • Otis Frampton (Otis4), winner of the December/January contest .
  • Mike Pogue from Zenstar Software, our sponsor .

The winner will receive a copy of Tree Druid by Zenstar Software for Carrara, PC or Mac. Tree Druid is a Carrara extension that allows you to create a variety of botanical trees, from tiny bonsai trees to colorful maples. More precisely, Tree Druid is a procedural modeller that generates and animates a three dimensional Carrara primitive representation of a botanical tree.

Plus, in accordance with our little tradition, the winner will be a judge in the next contest, and will have to find its theme.
Good luck !
