Renderosity's Photography Forum is sponsoring a monthly photo contest to create a calendar for the year 2003. The top three images for each month will be selected by a community vote, and will be posted in a special gallery accessible through the Photography Forum Contest Page. On November 1st through 5th, 2002 these images will be entered into a final vote which will determine each images' placement in the calendar. Based on the final vote, the 1st place winners for each month will have their image published as the main full page image for that month. The 2nd and 3rd place images will published at a smaller size that integrates into the calendar page itself. The printed calendar will be made available for purchase through the Renderosity Store. Proceeds from the sale of this calendar will be donated to a charity, or research foundation to be chosen by the community during the final vote. The Calendar Theme... The theme for the overall calendar is The World of Photographic Art. Our hope is to represent people and regions from all around the world. So... Wherever you live, or wherever you create your photographic images, we want to see them. The theme for each month is simply the month itself. The idea is to interpret, capture and express the essence of each month, and what it means to you. This could be anything from an important historical date to the season of the month to a unique sky or type of lighting that happens on once a year or even the first time you fell in love. The choice is entirely up to you! What do You Win??? Each of the final 12 1st place winners will receive an 11" X 14" LED photographic print of their winning entry dry mounted and double matted along with a calendar. Each of the 24 runner ups will receive an 8" X 10" Dye Sublimation print of their winning entry along with a calendar *Note* We are currently soliciting sponsors, and will update the prize packages if and when we can. Contest Rules... * All images entered must be based on, feature and integrate the entrants own original photographic image, or in the case of photomontage, images. * Post work in any photo editing and/or paint program is acceptable and encouraged... However, the use of royalty free images, or the addition of characters and/or objects created in a modeling program is not. *This is a photography contest* :) * Contestants are limited to one entry per month. * All images must be available at a print size of 11" X 14" with a resolution of 300 pixels per inch. * All images posted to the monthly contests must be in JPEG format with a pixel resolution of 72 pixels per inch, and should include a 100 X 100 pixel thumbnail. * Images may not contain nudity, or depictions of violence, and should generally be considered to be in good taste. Any images that do not conform to this rule will be removed, and the Photographer/Artist will be disqualified from further entries. Terms and Conditions for Entries... * That you are the original photographer and creator of the image you are entering. *That Renderosity and the Renderosity Photography Forum may use your images for any purpose they choose. * That there is no time limit set for the above consent to the use of the image. * That the image may be used at any time without any notification and/or compensation of any form. * That you (the entrant) will remain the intellectual property holder are free to publish your image at any future time.
