Renderosity organizes an image contest opened to all Carrara and Raydream Studio users. The winner will receive a copy of Shader Ops for Carrara offered by our sponsor Digital Carvers Guild. The topic for this contest is "The City that Never Sleeps". Model and render a city-scape at night.

Renderosity organizes an image contest opened to all Carrara and Raydream Studio users. The winner will receive a copy of Shader Ops for Carrara offered by our sponsor Digital Carvers Guild. The topic for this contest is "The City that Never Sleeps"

Here are the rules :

  • The contest is open to all Renderosity members . It ends on the May the 31st, 2002 . Members can submit as many entries as they want .
  • The topic of the contest is "The City that Never Sleeps". Model, texture and render a simple still life image of a city-scape at night. Focus on the rich detail and diversity of a city as well as on the fascinating lighting that appears when the sun goes down. Photo-realism is the goal. Good luck!
  • The image must be made mostly with Carrara or Raydream Studio . The use of other softwares based on the same technology is permitted ( Coreldream, Infini-D... ). Post render is allowed .
  • The image must be still, in .jpg of .gif format, 800x800 pixels maximum, and preferably less than 150KB. Of course, it has to illustrate the theme. Nudity is not allowed.
  • Just a reminder, thumbnails can only be maximum of 100x100.
  • Judges and the moderator (Kixum) can enter but they can't win.

Judges will be:

The winner will receive a copy of Shader Ops by Digital Carvers Guild for Carrara, PC or Mac. Shader Ops is a collection of shader operators for Carrara that add functionality to every existing Carrara shader. Apply shaders based on real world coordinates, put an end to the limit of 30 tiles, and adjust the brightness of any shader. These are just a few of the functions provided by Shader Ops. Plus, in accordance with our little tradition, the winner will be a judge in the next contest, and will have to find its theme.
