"Moonlight Over Hatteras" A once common sight to tourists along the Outer Banks, the wild Spanish Mustangs roamed the beaches freely. Believed to be survivors of shipwrecks from the 1500's, they were moved to safety after a series of fatal accidents with automobiles in the late 1990's. A barrier placed from Sea to Sound in a protected area ensures they will continue to thrive and remain...wild.
