Entry #4

Ms Virto has arrived to an interview for a job as a STUFFED ANIMAL MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT at All and More Service Company. -Good morning Ms Virto, please be seated. -Good morning. -Ms Virto, we decided to call you for an interview having read your application. Your school education is nine years at basic school. Is there any specific reason for not continuing your studies ? -Money. -Money ? Kindly explain Ms Virto. -Too little money and too much money. -? -My parents had too little money to support my studies and on the other hand there was just too much money for me to earn when working. -Hmmh, ok. Your working career is very interesting. Office cleaner, night guard, telemarketing, typist. Very many-sided. What we want to know is what got you to contact our company ? -Animals. -? -I always have loved animals very much. -Dear Ms Virto you do understand that the caretaker we are looking for is for stuffed animals ? -Yes. I love animals, but I have this fear every time any animal makes even the smallest move. So that is why I thought that this job is a dream job for me. I get to work surrounded by animals without having to be afraid of them. -I see, well… er…ok. Let’s see… yes, there is a lot of clients who wish the maintenance is to be done at their home. How about your people skills ? -I love people. Very much. -Good, because there are a number of older people to whom the visit from the maintenance assistant also is a social event. You know, they like to tell stories of their dear departed pets. -But of course. No problem there. As long as they wear their own teeth and hair. -? -I have this terrible fear of false teeth moving while a person is talking to me. And another thing I am afraid of is that somebody’s wig accidentally moves when they turn their head too quickly. -Er… ok Ms Virto, I think this is it. We will let you know then. Goodbye. -Thank you and goodbye. Ms Virto leaves the room and grabs a newspaper from her bag. She reads the address one more time. She has another interview in half an hour. She puts the newspaper back to her bag, the red circle is around the words: EMBALMING ASSISTANT at Eternity Funeral Co.
