Our neighborhood is very "ethnically-diverse", so my daughter has the wonderful opportunity to learn about other cultures and ways of thinking, while her friends are learning the "American way" - and though they frequently argue and disagree, it never involves issues of "race" or "beliefs". The kids themselves came up with this pose for me - I just said I wanted hands and lots of them :-) - so perhaps there is hope for the future.....
