This is my entry for the contest. The title of the image is "You can't go any more West than this!" and in fact, the further western thing one can find, is the ocean! ;-) So the young man probably left his good horse there waiting for him to swim out there and find out what's beyond the western limit :-) To make the image I first created a sunset sky in Vue d'Esprit and rendered it panoramically, then I imported the image into Carrara and used it as Environment light glow channel source mapped on a sphere, using the Anything Glows plugin, which is the main light source for the whole scene. All shaders are my own except for Appaloosa horse which is a commercial product.
