Timmy lived in the countryside, and when Christmas time came around each year he would make a trek to the nearby forest. He would bring his little battery, strings of old lights and some Christmas balls that were thrown out long ago. There was a small hill that was covered in snow where he has this little tree he would decorate. Each year he would go to what he now calls his spot and trim this tree. He did this because he not only enjoyed it, but because he found it peaceful. With the soft glow of lights at dusk it became almost magical to him. The quietness of the soft snow covered trees, the peaceful feeling that came over him as he stares at this wonderful halo of lights and nature. The snow covered trees was like a soft blanket protecting you from the harsh night. As the years went by each of them grew taller. He spent many an hour just enjoying the peaceful quiet surrounding him after his job was done. The spirit of this moment in time engulfed him each and every year. He now is a man and the tree full grown. He never missed a year decorating the tree except for the three years he joined the military. He went to fight in a war, which was very painful for him. Peace is something he felt should be for everyone in the world, especially at Christmas time. When the horrors of war would start to take its toll on him he would pull out his picture of his spot and feel the peace that would surround him during those times he spent there. He now is home and still after all these years has passed, he now takes his son to that spot where he still decorates the now tall beautiful tree. Right beside his tree has grown a little fir tree which is just right for little Timmy Jr. Tim found his place to enjoy peace. His only prayer is for peace to be found throughout the whole world. Inspiration was from as a kid I use to go into the forest to just have alone time and work on issues I might have had at the time. Word count in the tale is 346. Happy Holidays to all!
