Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa A Magical Holiday for me is my grandparents' Silver Christmas Tree... complete with spinning base (yes the TREE still turns after all these years) and color wheel. I would watch it turn for hours in the corner of their livingroom when I was a little girl. When grandpa wanted to throw it out, I wouldn't let him. He thought I was crazy for wanting the tree, with it's scotch tape repaired branches and crooked stem. He had bought the tree the year I was born (1957). It was the latest thing in artificial trees at the time, and the box still has the $29.95 price tag on it. Grandma and Grandpa are long gone, but when the tree is up and decorated for Christmas, I look at it and smile and think of them, and all is right with my world. Merry Christmas from my family to yours! The Silver Tree photograph was taken by me and my Grandparents were my inspiration. I added a bit of postwork with blurring the image for an old fashioned look and made the star sparkles in Gimp. Took me about an hour to complete it to my liking.
