Entry #11

The Survivor “Its Lilly, correct?†the detective asked her. “Yes,†she said softly. “I’m Detective Myers. You’re safe here. Can you tell me what happened at the house?†he reassured her while wondering how she survived that slaughterhouse. “We were staying at Freddy’s uncle’s house for the weekend. Everyone arrived at the house Friday afternoon. Freddy, his girlfriend Kaley, Freddy’s sister Nichole and her boyfriend Tyler came in one car while Brock, his girlfriend Dani, Clay and his girlfriend Shye in the came in the other. Once everyone claimed rooms and unpacked, a few explored the house a bit or started in on dinner. That was when Dani found the book.†“The book?†asked Myers. “It was full of incantations or something. That’s how it started, just some stupid fun. When Shye read from the book out loud, the lights shorted out and the power died. Freddy said he was going to check the generator in the shed to restart it. Kaley and Taylor went with him. Nichole found a small flashlight in a drawer in the kitchen and said she would check the basement for a fuse box, light bulbs and any candles. That was the cue for Brock and Dani to head upstairs to their bedroom, to no ones surprise. They were always in each others pants. Shye continued to page through the book, trying to read it in the moonlight. I think Clay went out the back door to light up a joint.†Myers continued to take notes on where everyone went. He hoped it would help on identifying some of the bodies. “Please continue.†“I can’t say for sure what happened then. Taylor came back about 20 minutes later and said they couldn’t get the generator started and then he went looking for Nichole. It was another hour or so later when Freddy and Kaley came back that we heard Dani screaming from upstairs. When we all headed to the stairway we saw something at the top of the stairs in front of her,†Lilly began to tear up a bit before continuing. “It ripped Dani in two and then threw what was left of her down onto Clay who just stumbled in.†Something? It wasn’t human then? The interrogation room suddenly felt a lot smaller to Myers. But something still didn’t feel right about this. “I know this is difficult, but please go on.†“The thing jumped down and knocked Kaley to the floor. Freddy told everyone to run as he tried to fight the thing off. He must of figured he was the strongest one there and had a chance against it. He distracted it as Shye helped Kaley up and they ran out the front door. Clay went out the back door nearly tripping in the blood on the floor. The girls got to the cars but neither of them had keys to them so they hid in the shed. It must have gotten to Clay a few minutes later since we could hear him screaming. God, what it must have done to him. Kaley spotted Freddy coming out of the house and quickly ran to help him but it wasn’t Freddy. Shye helplessly watched as Kaley was killed. Shye tried to run but it was faster.†“How many people were at the house again?†he asked her. “Eight,†she said. “Why don’t you count yourself in them?†“Did you know detective, that in horror films they have certain patterns or rules that happen to the victims or that they break. I did try to follow those rules last night, it makes it more fun,†she said with a bit of an evil smirk. “Excuse me?†Myers asked. He was feeling uneasy and wished he was armed or at least not alone. Was she confessing? “I guess that’s why Nichole was the first. The cute and innocent ones usually are. After all, she was also there when I was summoned. I did take my time with her, exploring her body and mind, before tearing her apart,†her voice suddenly changing to a guttural one. Myers suddenly looked up at her just as her arms split apart into dozens of tentacles. They were wrapping around him when he jumped up from the chair, holding him in place. He tried to scream but a tentacle quickly wrapped around his head covering his mouth. “Tayler was next since he was a minority in the group,†the creature continued to talk “having darker skin color than the others means an early death. Although, it didn’t help him that he was between me and the rest of the house. Even though Shye was another skin color, she was also the smartest out of the group. I wanted to wait on her just to see what she did know. Poor Brock thought he was getting a second round with Dani. It’s to bad she came back to their room so soon, I was going to save her for later. Freddy, playing the hero, never a good idea especially alone. Clay actually thought he could get away but he didn’t know what direction he was heading. Luring Kaley out was to easy. The look on her face, priceless. That left Shye, all alone. The creature pulled Meyers within inches of its face. He could feel his skin slowly being torn from his body by the tentacles that wrapped around him, constricting tighter every moment. He knew this thing was playing with him and he was going to die. “They broke a lot of the rules as well. They read from a weird book, separated, fell for an obvious trap, had sex and used drugs. But you broke some of the rules yourself, detective. You let your guard down and thought you were safe.†Damn, she was right, Myers thought just before passing out. Fifteen minutes later, “Myers†left the interrogation room. The former detective’s body covered the room in bloody heaps. Let the sequel begin, Lilly thought with an evil grin. ________________ Word Count: 998 Inspiration: Every horror film I’ve seen with the same basic cliches in them and my twisted imagination of course. On the plus side I plan to expand this short thing into a full sized story soon. I inspire myself sometimes. Hopefully there wont be any punctuation issues like where the quotation marks are. Timestamp difference was due to an editing problem.
