The things that roll in with the fog:
The elusive Fog Beast – part shark, part walrus, and a whole lot of demon hound from hell. A creature leftover from the dinosaur age, it owes its longevity to a keen survival instinct. It rarely comes out of the ocean, and only under the cover of heavy fog to hunt unsuspecting humans in packs. It is surmised that this activity is not out of a need for sustenance, but for amusement. The picture above is a rare glimpse of these rapacious creatures, as very few images of them have ever been captured. Unfortunately, the name of the photographer is unknown, for the only things found beside the camera were remnants of shredded clothing and human bones.
I snapped the photo at the beach on a very foggy October morning with my tablet. Inserted the photo as a backdrop in Daz3d, where I posed and rendered the fog beasts. Then I brought it into Photoshop to composite together, tweaking hue and contrast, adding breath effect, texture, and that kind of stuff. Overall, it took about 4 hours. And no, I did not get eaten. I had to drop my camera because I needed to run faster than the slowest person in my group. Here’s wishing you have a spooky Halloween!
