They were aged, often having malfunctions, sometimes arguing, but despite everything they still kissed under the mistletoe on Christma but every year they still kissed under the mistletoe on Christmas morn, no matter how crazy the world had gotten.

Conceptual/Technical:

The concept was triggered by playing with some gears and parts, I accidently created a trefoil structure like mistletoe. It sort of morphed from there to a robotica scene that you see, as I hadn't really intended to join the contest but it seemed fitting.

I created a corroded texture to apply to the bots and other equipment/props in the scene as I was going for a more beaten down look but in a holiday spirit. The initial scene took a couple of hours to setup, lighting tests took a couple of hours to find the right lighting for what I wanted. The rendering took the greatest amount of time as I kept on tweaking errors I found and dealing with moving things around so the shadows cast properly. Total time is estimated to be about 16 hours of time.
