Software used: I used Daz3d 4.9 Pro Genesis 2 characters with various standard morphs and some I created for the Frankenstein head shape in Zbrush 4r6. I made the broken hockey mask form an extract in Zbrush. I used the West Park building for the setting with various other props. The render were completed in Daz3d as well. The post processing work was completed in Photoshop cc including adding in some light effects along with the blood and scars.
Preparation: Originally I was trying to build this as an animation and spent countless hours preparing the animations, props and set. However due to computer issues and other problems with various software I have arrived at the point where I see no way to complete the animation before the deadline. In all I can guess that I spent a good 3-4 days at 8-10 hours with the completed render and post work.
Inspiration: As an avid horror fan I grew up watching the classics including old hammer films and then later the slasher/grindhouse horror era. Due to this I wanted to see the classic monster fight.
Concept: For this I imagined a clash between the Frankenstein, and Jason Voorhees who is about to kill his latest victim. The two being matched in power and supernatural survival abilities.
In the abandon military research facility a lightning strike from the incoming storm revives the Frankenstein monster from his decades of slumber. As he stumbles around gaining his senses a young girl runs into the room covered in blood crashing into him and falls back to the floor. Before Frankenstein can react to her a machete welding Jason burst in. Frankenstein places himself between the terrified girl and the maniac. Jason instantly attacks the larger threat, his machete lodged in the monsters collarbone. Frankenstein now infuriated takes out his wrath on the serial killer.
