Entry #5

The battle between the genie and leprechaun started like many battles before over a simple misunderstanding or mistake, Here is how I remember the story as told to me by my great grandmother on each St Patricks day after a day of heavy celebrating with many green ales ...

"It was St Patricks day long ago" she would say "and the Leprechuan had been planning her new outfit for weeks to stun and amaze everyone at the local tavern in celebration of St Patricks day, She had worked hard and was very proud of her outfit and just before leaving for the tarvern she realised she had forgotten to craft a hat, It was a small disaster and she knew she had no time to craft a hat, So she decided on the way to the tarvern she would get her lovely black hair colored green to compliment her outfit."

"She stopped at the hairdressers on the way that was owned by a generous genie and explained her problem and asked could the genie be so kind as to help her", Sure to be sure the genie agreed and sat the leprechuan down in her chair and applied the chemicals to color her hair green. It took about a half an hour and when the foil was removed the genie gasped in horror, "What is wrong ?" asked the leprechaun, "Oh my" replied the genie "Something has gone wrong and your hair is bright red" ... No matter how much the leprechuan squeezed her four leaf clover for luck and how many times the genie rubbed the lamp and wished nothing could change the color of the leprechauns hair from red to green, The leprechaun covered her head and went straight home and missed the St Patricks day celebration and that is how the battle between the genie and leprechaun started and continues until this very day ...

I have green irish blood flowing through my veins so I know this story is true, To be sure to be sure ...
