I decided to base this image on a story that I had written based loosely on some of the tales that my husband had told me of his childhood. Even though I wrote the story, I decided against entering it and thought I would quote just a part of it to tell you what inspired this.

"     Roger at his desk is busy with his own list. He definitely remembers when Abby’s doll became one of his bombing casualties, he really didn’t think it would blow up into so many pieces when he stuffed a firework in her neck so he should really think about getting her a new doll this year. He really wants the new tactical armored tank that they came out with this year for his GI Dudes.  He looks down to see what he has written so far and his tablet lights up and a video of his favorite GI Dude, Thrasher, appears.  Only, his Thrasher didn’t wear makeup and an apron. Not to mention, he didn’t drive a minivan. Come to think of it, where is Thrasher? He hasn’t seen him for a long time. On screen hands grab on to Thrasher and one of Abby’s other dolls and Abby is making them kiss, “GROSS!”  Roger’s chair tips backwards and then he picks himself up off the floor.  Getting up, he looks for his tablet only to find it under the pillow on his bed with a dead battery. Did he just imagine what he saw?  Going to the chest at the foot of his bed, he rummages around and lifts out a shoe box. Peeking inside, he smiles evilly and says, “Perfect!” "

Just imagine what old gifts could show up under your tree and just what kind of shape they might be in.
