These unholy syllables lanced suddenly through my head like a bolt of lightning, echoing and repeating through the empty room although I was completely alone. In the same moment, the peculiar symbol I had noticed daubed upon the wall flared with an eerie, eldritch luminescence..

I had no time to marvel at this, however; for no sooner had my senses recovered from this assault, than the great windows were flung wide by some unnatural force, curtains billowing in the ensuing gust of air.

And I was faced with the awful truth of what horrible fate was to befall me.

I fell to the floor in abject, unyielding terror, the flashlight rolling from my outstretched hand and illuminating the monstrous visage that gazed indifferently upon my supplication. That lidless, eternal eye...

Then, mercifully, my mind failed me, and all was oblivion.
