Battlefield Love

In the far future, battles are raging all over the known planets. Countless conflicts are threatening the existence of humankind once more.

But recently, the forces of the newly founded Earth-Alliance have entered the fray to save what still could be saved. Consisting of veterans from all human colonies, their troops are slowly but continuously quenching one conflict after the next.

Battle-weary and broken-hearted, they keep fighting, knowing they have to continue for the sake of humankind.

It could be called a bitter irony or evolutionary providence that the bodies of these brave men and women are barely human anymore.

And this was most true for Major Dalton of the First Battalion. For most, Dalton is only a robot, a ghost in a machine, since he lost his human body, and his whole physique was replaced by alloy and cybernetics. But not so for Sara. For Sara, he is still a human.

Now he holds her motionless body in his metallic arms and carries her from the battlefield, hoping to reach the combat medics in time to save her fading life.
