Entry #31

This is my 3D interpretation of Pablo Picasso's "The Old Guitarist", which was painted in 1903 during his Blue Period, which was hallmarked by an almost universal use of a monochromatic blue palette, somber and dismal subjects and an overall impoverished tone. "The Old Guitarist" was painted following the suicide of Picasso's close friend, Casagemas. During this period, the artist was sympathetic to the plight of the downtrodden and painted many canvases depicting the miseries of the poor, the downtrodden and outcasts of society.

His Blue Period preceded the beginning of the Cubism art movement, started by him and Georges Braque in 1907.
