A Latin spitfire hit the silver screen in musical extravaganzas during WWII - Ma & Pa from Podunk had never seen anything like her! She provided Hollywood amusement desperately needed for folks otherwise packed in churches praying for their boys fighting overseas. She danced & sang in seductive gowns, super high platform shoes & outlandish headdresses. Her fractured English charmed audiences, always getting laughs. Sadly she died too young but her lovely presence lives on in these delightful old movies (& perhaps in this sugar concoction).
