The Surprise Christmas Dinner

She brought out a platter covered by a lid. By all guesses, it was a roast for Christmas dinner.

"A turkey?" he asked.

"Lamb," she corrected.

"Oh that sounds-" he started and then she opened the lid. He laughed when he saw a familiar furry face.

"Oh it's Max!" he cried out in delight as his wife laughed. Max gave out a quick bark.

"Surprise! Though he's not for dinner. The real roast is in the kitchen," she said, still laughing.

"Well I should hope so. Cute costume," he told her.

"I gave Max's Christmas present a little early and he was excited to show it off," she explained.

"Well it's wonderful," he told her, also laughing, "Merry Christmas to you both."

"Merry Christmas to you too my love."
