2024 Writers Halloween Contest

A Halloween for everyone

Entry #18

For Halloween’s no ordinary night.

On this eerie night of fright,
The moon’s aglow, just pale and slight.
Goblins giggle, witches sigh,
Skeletons creak as bats zoom by.

In the shadows, whispers creep,
While pumpkins watch but never speak.
Knocks on doors bring gleeful cheers,
But beware... not all is clear!

Is it candy that you seek,
Or a ghostly voice, low and weak?
Maybe it’s a trick, maybe a treat,
Or perhaps a zombie beneath your feet!

So brace yourself, and hold on tight,
For Halloween’s no ordinary night.
Monsters laugh, and spirits play
In their world, we’re just prey!
