-The Gruesome Spectre and His Precious October Jewel- On the edge of the old, dusty graveyard lives Elara, a spectacular contrast to the perpetual mist surrounding her. With her midnight black hair and eyes as chillingly blue as ice, she is the "October Jewel" of her father, the mysterious Mister Hide-Skin, a man whose face is so hideous he looks as if he crawled out of a nightmare. Far from wanting to be a fairy, Elara is a girl fascinated by the grim, the ancient whispers, and the cobwebs. Her one true delight is Halloween night, not for the light, but for the darkness that allows everyone (including her father) to blend in without judgment, and for the sweet, shadowy tradition of trick-or-treating. However, this year, the tradition is tainted with danger. An ancient entity, which seeks out beauty and light, has set its sights on Elara's purity. To protect his daughter, the "Gruesome Spectre" to the world, must risk everything in a race against time as the orange moon rises.
