Alright... to me... this contest was a double edged blade. The Golden "Era" of comics was the late 40s, early 50s when every form of entertainment sky rocketed. Post war Americana flourished as people strived to forget the loses of WWII, and the nation was engulfed in a frenzie of amusements. Any excuse for a parade, a celebration. Comics that came from that era are truely what have deffined the modern pop culture comics. Now... the contest is Golden "Age". And that to me sent a whole differnt messege. I remembered being a kid and finding my first copy of "Elflord" at an antique and novelty shop. I started to delve into the "under ground" comics. While my friends were reading Spider Man and XMen, I was busy searching out more from artists I had read in Heavy Metal. Then... they did it... Comic companies like Dark Horse and Image came out. They brought the quality and intense story lines that were not glazed over redo's of Stan Lee and other artist. Their covers were flashy, intense, some times very rough looking sketch style drawings. Marvel even joined in to compete with covers like Doom 2000, and the Damion series. It is from this "Age", the time when comics where revitalized, that I consider it to be golden. Childhood moments almost forgotten until this contest. (And yes, I asked Sixus before I made that logo for the comic company. It's kinda my tribute to Les and Rebekah for posting this contest. Thanks for the great memories guys!) I hope you enjoy the entry. Best of luck to all. StrmRyder/Daryn
