TALON'S QUEST By Earthdweller Down through the valley of Tia Miandrin Out where the mountains meet Condry Marin That is where Talon met the Magician, And both together they battled the Djinn Onward and onward they travelled together Through the dark mining's where once was found gold Now the town nearing the mountains behind them Land had grown warmer ,leaving mountains of cold They travelled together the quest must be proven To carry the goblet of Karonte hall Only one needed to bear it to Castle Hangazrin Two travel together lest one should fall They passed through the towns leaving no sign behind them Like wraiths through the misty Vales so far away No one would see them or hear them this morning They crept through the night and slept through the day. Their weary worn horses were given no quarter This quest would hopefully end the thousand year war To capture the Goblet that was ruled by such evil That warped and invaded the owner La Soure The goblet had passed down the La Soure family Each one was worse than the ruler before Talon had said he could handle this army With magician Balas he would Kill King La Soure They travelled a year and at last they were close now They could see through the mists the castles red flag Balas smiled over to the young Knight of Elver As he covered the hooves of the horses with rag. From sunset they rested watching and waiting Knowing by morning they could well be dead Talon was sitting with a blanket around him A black metal helmet protecting his head. As blackness surrounded the lonely invaders They crept to the castle walls with never a sound Talon signalled to Balas, the magician was silent With eyes tightly closed he knelt on the ground Softly at first the earth began trembling Then there was shaking and walls started to fall Though not a sound the world seemed to be ending The only sound to be heard was an owls lonely call They crept through the castle to where they would find it From the goblet they would feel evil seep through But first they must find the king who had owned it It would betray them if only they knew. As they crept in to the kings sleeping chamber Then too late they discovered their mistake The Goblet sang softly to the king of his danger A sword came to hand as the king came awake But quick thinking Balas grabbed for the goblet As Talon lunged forward to disrupt the kings aim With both hands burning Balas was chanting He had nothing to lose but a whole world to gain It was all over quickly as Talon lay bleeding The goblet and Balas had gone from this place The king lay beside him no longer breathing As Talon arose with a smile on his face Balas had reached the Castle Hangazrin A heartbeat was all that he needed to leap Into the lava below the queens dungeons That’s where at last the evil Goblet would sleep Now as his wounds healed Talon was drinking When Balas walked into the Inn by the shore The magician and Talon were seen quietly talking As often they had, before the thousand year war.
