Is any member familiar with the cyclorama program from Daz3d? What does it do and is it for Poser? Is the program worth purchasing? Thanks.

The cyclorama is not a program; it's a prop or figure for use in Poser. Basically, it's a multi-layered wraparound backdrop for creating scenery.

HI there, This is Anton from Daz. The Cyclorama is not a program. It is a mesh plane that curves around the scene and swoops onto the floor....like a photopgraphers backdrop. It is for Poser but can be used in any program because it is a model. Here are some examples of what a photo background can do for it. Look at the images also in the Platinum Club for more images. As to the question of whether it is worth purchasing, yes it definitely is. I use it a lot, and it's a fast, easy way to make a background for a render. There's also 3 or 4 additional texture packs for it at Daz and a few free ones elsewhere.

Its definitely worth the purchase.. I love it and it comes in handy lots :)

Here is an example with the Transparency turned off It makes it easier to position the middle and foreground props. With the transparency on, all I see are dots.

PheonixRising For some reason my renders seem blurry. The one you did here seems great. I do work for the print medium, and I need a clear, hi-res image. Basicly a 6 x 9" or larger at 300 dpi. I know P4 has a problem with background images, but I'm talking about the mid an foreground Cyclorama props.

I Have Cyclorama, and the freebies, and the ones from Daz's Platium club. The idea is great, and I think for most uses my problem is not a problem,I do reccommend the program. The problem I have may be with Poser (or me).

I used the cyclorama in several of my more recent pictures, most of my recent picture, well, all of my recent pictures except the most recent kitty one. I love it!!!

Try shapening your images. They could be out of focus to start. Are these with your own backgrounds?

PheonixRising I have to keep sharpening at a minimum. The pictures are cyclorama images. The one that came with the prop and two sets from Daz3d Platiumn club. How do I use my own images?

Take four pictures of a scene on your knees for the right level. Do not stand. Take one slightly to the right and an overlapping pic to the left. Then stand and takke two different ground shots at your feet so the ground matches the area. You have to make the ground by tiling and cloning in Photoshop.

Global Lights are best for shadows and no shadows on the background. This is the map from the image above.

Wow, great info. I noticed the Cyclorama PNG is 91 x91 pixels or .303 inches. I can see why I have blurry images. What size should the JPG images I make be?

I think the .png you're referring to is the library thumbnail used to display the item in the Poser library, not the actual texture maps used for the Cyclorama. Cheers!
