Subject: Asian, White, Indian etc...

When modeling humans, one would establish race with certain facial features correct? I mean in general you would think that asians have more slanted eyes, or that Indian would have a broader forehead, or a larger nose...but how does one really get the look of a particular race, so when you look at a model you can tell up front without a doubt? I guess what I'm really looking for would be something like "The Artist Guide to Human Ethnicities"(sp?) Does such a refrence exist? Is there anything in the line of refrence material that would lend a helping hand on this matter? Thanks -Modulok-

I use to have a drawing book called "Ethnic character drawing: A Study of muscle and bone structure" But I don't have it any more, and I have no idea who published it. So all and all...probably not much help. You could always do a search @ Barnes and Nobel though.

Thanks Travis! You have a very good point on the beauty thing, that would be an excellent one to look deeper into, because after all...who wants an ugly CG dream girl ;P Please do post any refs on either that you have, I'd love to look deeper into both of these. I'll post anything I find as well. Thanks -Modulok-

Poser 5 has sliders for that. Roll the knob and instant presto ethno. I've seen some sliders like that in P4. Probably vicky? Anyway, you can learn a lot by watching the face change.

I posted the question of what defines beauty in the art theory forum and got some pretty decent feedback. Click the link to look deeper into it. -Modulok-

Vicky 3 has way more ethnic sliders than any other model. Well worth the effort.
