E, not sure exactly what you mean. Set up Vicky in Poser the way you want her with all the maps involved--I'm assuming a texture map, maybe a transmap and texture for hair, etc. Now, export her as .obj and the .mtl will be with her. When you open the .obj in Bryce, it will ask you to locate the textures (I'm assuming that's what you want). All of those will show up in the pic library. I'm just not quite sure what you mean about not being able to 'load' but one map at a time. Since my computer is down (hopefully Gateway will have it up this afternoon-its been a long dry spell without getting to work with Vicky and new morphs), I can't try to duplicate what you are saying. Perhaps if you specify what maps you want to include and maybe even posting the image from Poser it may help us to help you. Diane B
And she's saved as a wavefront .obj? I'd go to wherever your .obj's are saved (mine are saved in my Poser folder right under the Runtime folder) and look and see if there is a .mtl file right with it. If not, then its more likely a Poser problem. Since I didn't get to work much with Vickie in Bryce before my computer went down, I'm not sure of the problem. I'd try a P4 woman too--see what happens with that and the maps. Nonetheless, you can bring in as many maps as you want in Bryce and apply them--in the material lab--in the pic library. I do that all the time. Go into the material lab, then go into the pic library and load the maps you want. You will have assign the maps to the areas you want--by cntrl/click or tab through the meshes, etc. There are several tutes on that. I often bring in a Poser model and then decide to change her skin, her eyebrows (we're talking P4), lips, etc.--which are all different items in P4--not in Vickie though. You should be able to assign whatever texture you want to her--I'm trying to remember what is separate on her--eyes, body from head, toenails and fingernails, hands. However, most likely you will want to just use one texture but may want to assign a different one and see what that looks like in Bryce--through the pic library. Same with hair. Now that I think about it, there will likely only be 2 maps involved with Vicky except for her hair--head and body (oh, and bumps too, forgot those). All of those should either be in your pic library or you can bring them in and put them in the material lab--in the different columns. Why don't you mention what maps--and maybe show a pic of what is happening?--Maybe a screen shot. When my computer gets back up (hopefully this afternoon IF it is the power supply that is bad), I'll try importing Vic into Bryce with the 4 maps. Diane B
Hey Diane, Sounds like a tutorial I read once :) Spike

Can you remember where you saw the tutorials of which you speak, Diane. I do have the .mtl with .obj. Now I am thoroughly confused how you assign a texture to just one part of the mesh (such as lips). Can you do a step-by-step on how you're bringing in and assigning the multiple textures? Or know of a tutorial that does that? I thought as an object, Bryce saw it as one singular object, or can you ungroup and do you need to save in Poser with particular settings to be able to do this? Thanks for all of everyone's help. Will try to do some screen captures tonight when home from work, if that will help.
See that post up there by Spike LOL???? He's the MAN!!!-the one who taught me last summer how to do this. The tutorial he's referring to is ----LOLOL----HIS!!! and, he's making me work for it. I had to do a bit of searching since I'm not on my computer (still waiting for the Gateway guy due soon) but here it is---- http://www.mindspring.com/~zonefive/tutorials.htm Look for Poser 4 to Bryce 4 tute. You do NOT have to ungroup--you just have to point your mouse to what you want to select and then on a PC, do cntrl/click and you will get a list of the meshes underneath your mouse. This is because you might have, for instance, the eyes, the hair, a chair arm, the wall, etc.--you see what I mean--they are 'on top' of each other. You choose which one you want. If you want several, like all the parts of the Vickie head (I don't know this, but a Vickie/head mesh group may be there), then you have to hold down, shift/cntrl/click while you select (it will 'accumulate' the meshes). When you have all the parts you want, my suggestion is to go to the A on the list beside your meshes and 'name' that--like 'Vickie head' and I also give it a 'color' in the grey block in that same list, you will get a 'family' with colors to assign--make the head (or whatever you are selecting) a color and name it again and it will remain that color when it is NOT selected. The advantage to this is you can add parts to a 'family' later on if needed (sometimes you miss a part while selecting). This method is a bit tedious sometimes, but you get good at it quickly--and it gives you the ability to do a lot of material changing easily. If/when I'm back on on my own computer with all my textures, 2D apps, etc.-- I will do some screen shots of this--and if I'm smart, maybe I'll post it to my web page so I don't have to rewrite this every time--and I'll get the steps right. HOWEVER--Spike's tute should be exactly what you need--its easy, to the point, with images, and step by step--and I guarantee you I was where you were last summer in understanding this. I bet he'll answer questions too smile. Diane B
Please go read the tutorial it will tell you how to get it all working right. including trans maps. Spike

Yes, read Spike's tutorial. I'm now BACK--on my own computer so will follow this thread later. The hair (from any of the models with transmaps regardless of the model--P4, etc.) ALWAYS comes in 'solid' and you have to check 'blend transparency' with the hair tex in the correct column in the material lab for the transmap. Somehow my message never posted: I am having trouble bringing in Victoria's multiple maps into Bryce. I succesfull brought in Codeman's Fairy Butterfly wings for her as a separate object and applied it's single map, but can't seem to do that with Vicki as I can only seem to load one map at a time. Can anyone help? I'm sure I've seen others do it.
