What software do you have running in the background? Especially on Win95/98/ME, software like virus scanners, firewalls, etc can affect the stability of other programs. Press ctrl-alt-del after a clean boot and look at the number of tasks: IIRC, a plain 98 install has only 2 or 3 tasks running. I don't run 98 for a while now, but I think you can safely kill all of those tasks except Explorer - then try running Poser 5 and see if it's more stable. You might want to clean up the relicts of some programs/utilities you don't use any more. Updating to XP could also solve your problem, but you might be better already with just a reinstall of Win98. However, IMHO a computer with as much power as yours should be running XP or 2k. Win98 is just not worth bothering with.
