I broke down and bought a p42.8g with 400ddr mem of 1gig (along with all other ddr that I dont understand) and was very frustrated to find that my laptop 98 loaded it faster than my xp pro..... as a remote terminal no less! Then somewhere along the chains of searching here, I found that if I shut off the WindowsXP pretty stuff and viewed classic (display settings) - Poser jumped up and worked a lot faster. Still not a great pickup for my expenditure but now I have a fast mobo, mem, himem vid card (went ATI as saw 2 many complaints on nvideo) and lots of harddisk to totally commit to my 3d.... Hopefully, next upgrade will... aw well, nothing is ever fast enough and I started using computers back when there was no PC! Hope you enjoy your experience - P5 has been "quite" the interesting learning environment and I am just barely touching on the clothes now as materials and faces took me so long to feel comfortable with.
