I think you misunderstand. When I say bring it in as one mesh, I mean the whole thing as a single object. When it's one object, you can't ungroup (since there's only one object, LOL). This lack of smoothing over the edges of adjoining meshes is a major limitation to bringing Poser figures into Max.
