You can do PayPal if you can't get money together for credit card acceptance right away. Their processing charge isn't too bad, either. As a warning - if your credit gets screwed up, it will be harder for you to get a merchant account for accepting credit cards. I know you're kinda stuck in that regard, but it is another complication. I don't know about Philly, but there's a lot of nice places in New Jersey. (Stay away from the part corrupted by NYC! Newark, Elizabeth, etc.) If it didn't get so cold in the winter, I'd still be living there. Good luck!
