Well, I can tell you, a 1000 page book would be the thing I'd go for as long as it is covering not only the cook-book-style part but also the technical background in depth. A good background knowledge is essential for me to work out "tricks" or circumventions by myself. Please, do not restrain yourself to a simple "paint by the numbers"-scheme, get out your intimate knowledge of the inner workings of P5.
